A Comfortable Start to a Lifetime of Healthy Smiles

Your child’s first dental visit is an important milestone. At our Auburn pediatric dental practice, we take time to help your child get comfortable with the space, our team, and the tools we use. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit when the first tooth appears or by your child’s first birthday. Starting early gives us a chance to check their teeth, answer your questions, and help your family build healthy habits. We’ll move at your child’s pace and keep the experience appropriate for their age.

What to Expect During the Appointment

At our Auburn children’s dental office, your child’s first visit is tailored to their age and comfort level. We’ll gently check their teeth and gums, look at how their smile is developing, and talk about brushing at home. If your child is ready, we may also clean their teeth. We’ll discuss any recommended X-rays with you before taking them.

We’ll explain what we find, answer your questions, and share practical tips for caring for your child’s teeth at home. Along the way, we’ll use words your child can understand and give them time to get comfortable with each step.

Preparing Your Child for Success

Preparing for a first visit to our Auburn pediatric dental practice can be simple. Tell your child that we’ll look at their teeth and help them learn how to keep their smile healthy. Invite them to bring their questions, too.

You don’t need to promise that every part of the visit will feel a certain way. We’ll explain each step in words your child can understand, check in with them, and give them time to get comfortable.

New Patient Forms

To make your child’s first visit to our Auburn children’s dental office easier, you can complete the new patient forms ahead of time. That gives us more time to focus on your child when you arrive.
